*~Mommy and Me Petal Stitch Crochet Booties~*

The cutest spring booties/slippers you will ever make!

It is spring finally! Tulip leaves are poking out of the ground and planting season is starting in a couple weeks! I have been designing in flower theme in anticipation of spring and this is probably my favorite design yet!
So cozy and beautiful, these slippers are the perfect Mommy and me set~ Today I’m sharing with you not only the pattern for 3 sizes, Adult, Kids, and Newborn but a Step by Step Video tutorial of how to do the Kid Slipper Size!

For your information~

This is my pattern and design. Reselling or redistributing it would be a copyright violation and would make me super sad so don’t do it!

However! Crochet and sell as many of these as you wish! Crediting Crochelina as the designer is greatly appreciated but not necessary.

Also, Love this stitch?? I have done another blog post How to Petal Stitch so check it out! It also has a video showing how to do the petal stitch step by step row by row and in the round. Also check out the shop! I have lots of new patterns using this petal stitch!

Now let’s get started!

Materials Needed:

I recently tried Scheepjes Stone Washed yarn and loved it. This was my test really. I love the cozy fuzzy feel of it as well as the subtle color variations that give it a high quality finish. Below I have links showing where to get it online as it is a European yarn brand and isn’t found in stores in the US!

If you would like to use a different yarn then you will need to get 1 ball of yarn in Light Pink 3 ply (DK weight), 1 ball of yarn in Dark Pink 3 ply (DK weight), and 1 ball of yarn in green 4 ply (Worsted Weight). Also you can make both the Adult and one of the smaller slippers with the yarn below!

Yarn: 1 Ball Scheepjes Yarn Stone Washed (820 – Rose Quartz)
1 Ball Scheepjes Stonewash 835 Rhodochrosite
1 Ball Scheepjes Stonewash XL 868 Larimar

Hook: 3.5 mm hook  Buy Full Hook Set Here Or Get a great 3.5 mm hook here

Needle: You always need a large eyed blunt needle for sewing in ends! Buy Here

The Video Tutorial:

Here’s my crochet along how to video for the kids size! Get all the materials you need, kick back, and crochet these beautiful slippers with me! Even if you are mostly interested in the adult size, the video will show you the same general construction of the shoes regardless of size so check it out!

2. Adult Petal Stitch Slippers

These slippers use the Scheepjes Stonewash XL (4 ply yarn) for the bottom and Scheepjes Stonewash (3 ply yarn) for the sides. This gives the soles the support and thickness an adult slipper needs in my opinion! Also the stitch is very stretchy so this is really a one size fits all~

First you will crochet the sole and then work the sides of the shoe all the way up. The Relax length of the sole is 10 inches.

Newborn size! Have you seen more adorable little baby booties?? When I was in a coffee shop showing these booties off to a friend a new mom came up to me and said her ovaries were hurting from how adorable they were! That made my day! I hope you love these fast work up booties as much as I do~

I don’t have row by row photos for these but if you look above at the other sizes, the construction of these shoes are almost the same! Also I have the symbol pattern for this shoe below for the more visual crocheters!

4. How to adapt for different sizes~

So I made these 3 sizes because I needed them but it is really easy to adapt the kids size to make them a little smaller or bigger.

One size smaller: Use the same sole pattern as the kids size except do 5 less chains in the first round. You will wind up with 1 less petal on each side of the shoe. (When I tried this sole it was about 5.5 inches long)

One size larger: Use the same sole pattern as the kids size except do 5 more chains in the first round. You will wind up with 1 more petal on each side of the shoe.

Two sizes larger: Do 10 more chains in the first round.

Basically each petal is 5 chains long and you can change the length of the shoe this way! The shoe part sides are all done the same way as the kids size.
