*~Crochet Giant Flower Hot-pad~*

Whether you use it as a hot-pad, coaster, or centerpiece, it’s a great addition to any home!

A lot of crochet patterns arrive through necessity and I really needed one of these. I cook and bake a lot and I’m an oven to table girl, my food comes out hot! Since I’m still in the flower power theme I thought why not make a giant flower that’s beautiful and functional! I really like decorating the dining table so it just fit.

Best part of all you can make matching coasters by stopping the pattern early!

I made a video tutorial that shows step by step how to make this giant flower. You can download the pattern for free below so let’s get started!

If you are a beginner and watched my How To Crochet Flowers Video Crochet-Along, this is not much harder and you will be using 2 new stitches, triple crochet, and quadruple crochet!

The most important thing in making a beautiful flower is consistent stitches and the right materials.

Materials Needed:

Yarn: I used 4 Ply 100% Cotton yarn. You have to use Cotton without any acrylic or it will melt when something hot is placed ontop. Any 100% cotton yarn would work but Bernat Handicrafter is an easily available option for yarn which I use sometimes. Buy Here , Or Buy Here,

Hook: This depends on the size yarn you use but for my 3 ply I used a 4.25 mm hook! I like to have a full variety of hooks on hand because I use many sizes of yarn for my flowers.  Buy Full Hook Set Here Or Buy Set of Larger Hooks Here

Needle: You always need a large eyed blunt needle for sewing in ends! Buy Here
